What you will do

• Lead the engineering function for utility-scale solar and BESS projects across the UK.
• Define and implement engineering standards, processes, and best practices to ensure repeatable delivery.
• Oversee system design including layouts, DC/AC, HV infrastructure, and SCADA integration.
• Manage external consultants to ensure the delivery of robust and bankable designs.
• Ensure strict compliance with the UK Grid Code, G99/G100, and HSE requirements.
• Act as the primary technical interface for internal teams, lenders, and partners during due diligence.

Requirements

• 7–10+ years of experience in renewable energy engineering, focusing on utility-scale solar and BESS.
• Proven track record of leading engineering teams and managing external consultants.
• Deep understanding of UK grid connection processes (DNO/TSO) and PV system design.
• Expertise in substations, protection & control systems, and SCADA integration.
• Proficiency with industry-standard tools such as AutoCAD, PVsyst, or Helioscope.
• Must be based in or able to work in a hybrid setup in London, UK.
