What you will do

• Engineer the full lifecycle of the department's semantic infrastructure and define governance and security logic.
• Determine appropriate modeling strategies, choosing between Import, DirectQuery, or Direct Lake modes.
• Manage legacy SSAS partitions and architect modern Microsoft Fabric semantic models.
• Utilize engineering tools such as Tabular Editor and ALM Toolkit for model development.
• Collaborate with executives, managers, and subject matter experts to translate needs into technical BI solutions.
• Develop technical and user-level documentation for data models and reporting tools.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Applied Statistics, Computer Analytics, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 5 years of recent relevant experience in business intelligence development.
• Advanced proficiency in SQL, Power BI, and DAX.
• Expertise in SSAS Tabular Models and database programming.
• Must be based in or able to work onsite in Sacramento 2 days per week.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with SSIS and SSRS.
• Strong knowledge of statistics and advanced database programming.
