What you will do

• Design and develop tooling and layout concepts for new and existing manufacturing processes.
• Create detailed CAD models and drawings for fixtures and equipment placement using GD&T best practices.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to drive alignment and execution for electrical tooling across multiple plants.
• Analyze workflow, space utilization, and material flow to optimize plant layouts.
• Support launch activities by refining designs based on production feedback and constraints.
• Ensure all designs comply with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.

Requirements

• Proven background in tooling and layout design for manufacturing environments.
• Proficiency in CAD software such as NX, TeamCenter, AutoCAD, or SolidWorks.
• Strong understanding of GM manufacturing processes and electrical integration.
• Proficiency with GM Global Common Tooling & Controls Standards.
• Must be authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship.
• Must be able to work onsite in Warren, Michigan.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with automation systems, robotics, and ergonomic design principles.
• Experience in plant operations or launch activities.
• Ability to kick off process simulations for designed tooling.
