Design Engineer (Oil & Gas)

TL;DR

Design Engineer (Engineering): Designing, developing, and implementing new products and components for oilfield and drilling equipment with an accent on concept development and design trade studies. Focus on creating detailed CAD documentation, executing prototype builds, and optimizing design performance through rigorous testing.

Location: Onsite in Fort Worth, TX (working onsite five days a week)

What you will do

• Research new materials, processes, and competitive products to guide concept development and design trade studies.
• Organize and execute prototype builds, testing, and analysis to recommend design improvements.
• Translate functional requirements into detailed design documentation, including CAD models, drawings, and specifications.
• Support buy/build analyses and provide technical guidance for supplier development and performance.
• Coordinate activities with drafting and testing specialists to meet quality and schedule expectations.
• Participate in proposal preparation, cost estimates, and technical reporting.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Science, or Materials Science.
• Two or more years of practical experience in an engineering or STEM related field outside of academia.
• Working knowledge of CAD/CAE tools for creating and modifying 2D/3D models and specifications.
• Ability to plan product/prototype testing and interpret results to improve reliability.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with SolidWorks 3D modeling software.
• Experience with product design in a manufacturing environment, including design-for-manufacturability.
• Experience building prototypes and contributing to structured test plans.
• Mechanical and electrical design aptitude, including sensors and software.
