What you will do

• Manage end-to-end US state and local sales and use tax obligations, including nexus analysis, registration, and filing.
• Administer and optimize the tax engine (Avalara), ensuring proper integration with billing and ERP systems.
• Coordinate with external providers to ensure global VAT, GST, and Digital Services Tax (DST) compliance.
• Review indirect tax filings and manage responses to tax authority audits and inquiries.
• Support M&A activities through due diligence and nexus exposure analysis.
• Leverage AI and automation tools to streamline indirect tax policies and internal controls in line with SOX.

Requirements

• 8+ years of indirect tax experience within a Big 4 firm or in-house corporate tax function.
• Deep knowledge of US sales and use tax law, specifically for digital and SaaS products.
• Hands-on experience managing and configuring indirect tax engines.
• Strong proficiency in ERP systems, with a preference for NetSuite.
• Must be based in New York, NY.
