TL;DR

Location: Hybrid: 3 days a week (M, W, TH) in the San Ramon office is required

What you will do

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of three indirect tax professionals to foster high performance.
  • Oversee indirect tax compliance for SaaS and Telecom products, including US Sales/Use Tax and Canadian GST/HST.
  • Manage the timely and accurate filing of federal and state regulatory reports, such as FCC/USAC and State PSC.
  • Develop and implement strategies to minimize tax liabilities and optimize tax positions.
  • Provide tax guidance on new product introductions and service offerings to address tax implications.
  • Develop internal controls over tax processes to ensure SOX compliance and automate tax workflows.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in indirect tax, with a specific focus on the telecommunications industry.
  • Demonstrated experience with FCC/USAC filings and telecom tax compliance.
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian GST/HST regulations.
  • Must be based in or able to work from the San Ramon office 3 days per week.

Nice to have

  • CPA and/or Master of Science in Taxation.
  • Experience with Avalara tax automation software.
  • Experience working in a corporate tax department or a public accounting firm.
