What you will do

• Architect and own services across the policy platform, including storage APIs and distribution pipelines for enforcement nodes.
• Lead the seamless modernization of the platform architecture to eliminate technical debt and ensure future scalability.
• Champion AI-assisted development practices and identify opportunities to embed ML/AI into policy features.
• Manage complex projects end-to-end, from requirements gathering through to deployment and monitoring.
• Mentor engineers through code reviews, design discussions, and detailed technical documentation.
• Collaborate with Product Management, Security, and Operations to align on requirements and delivery schedules.

Requirements

• 8+ years of backend development experience in Python, Node.js, or Go.
• 5+ years of experience with cloud platforms (AWS or GCP) and managed Kubernetes (EKS/GKE).
• Proven experience architecting distributed systems with strong reliability and low-latency requirements.
• Strong knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, TLS, HTTP/2, DNS, proxying).
• Proficiency with Redis, PostgreSQL, MySQL, and OLAP systems like Apache Druid.
• Must be based in the UK (EMEA).

Nice to have

• Experience with policy/rules engines or real-time traffic inspection.
• Knowledge of FedRAMP, SOC 2, or FIPS 140-2/140-3 compliance frameworks.
• Experience with web security, such as URL classification and content filtering.
