What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain streaming microservices in Java and Go for real-time data processing.
• Build and optimize Apache Flink and Apache Spark data pipelines running on Kubernetes.
• Design event-driven systems using Kafka for high-throughput, low-latency message streaming.
• Own technical initiatives end-to-end across AWS, GCP, OCI, and on-premises data centers.
• Develop RESTful APIs and SDKs for seamless internal integration with streaming capabilities.
• Implement observability solutions using metrics, logging, and distributed tracing to ensure platform health.

Requirements

• 8+ years of software engineering experience with a proven track record of building production systems.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, stream processing, and event-driven architectures.
• Proficiency in Java, Python, and/or Go for building high-performance services.
• Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka and Apache Flink and/or Apache Spark.
• Solid grasp of containerization and Kubernetes for application orchestration.
• Must be based in or have the right to work in London, UK.

Nice to have

• Experience operating services across multiple cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure, OCI).
• Knowledge of data serialization formats like Avro, Protobuf, and Parquet.
• Experience with observability platforms such as Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, or Splunk.
• Contributions to open-source streaming or distributed systems projects.
• Knowledge of exactly-once processing semantics and state management in streaming.
