CAD Design Engineer (Water Infrastructure)

Location: Must be based in or able to commute to Wakefield, UK (Hybrid: 4 days/week in office)

What you will do

• Prepare and develop design drawings and technical solutions for civil and survey information.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure project design accuracy and consistency.
• Support the resolution of technical issues and respond to CAD-related queries.
• Maintain effective communication with internal and external stakeholders to meet deadlines.
• Support the development of Pre-Construction Information and survey evaluations.
• Mentor junior team members and implement innovative design best practices.

Requirements

• Must be able to work from the Wakefield office at least 4 days per week.
• Proficiency in 2D CAD software, specifically AutoCAD LT.
• Sound understanding of civil engineering design principles and terminology.
• Knowledge of UK Water Industry and Sewer Sector Guidance standards.
• Ability to support quality and information management procedures (ISO 9001, ISO 19650).
• Computer literacy with Microsoft Office applications.

Nice to have

• Experience with Common Data Environment (CDE) platforms like BIM 360 or Autodesk Construction Cloud.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD software such as Revit or Civils 3D.
• Familiarity with WIMES standards and CDM regulations.
• Knowledge of HazOp and ALM processes.
• Full UK driving licence and access to own transport.
