Focus on minimizing downtime, optimizing cloud resource cost-effectiveness, and aligning technical solutions with business goals.

Location: Must be based in the USA. Work-from-home with optional office use. Travel up to 15%.

What you will do

• Develop comprehensive migration strategies and detailed transformation plans based on business and technical requirements.
• Assess current IT landscapes to define migration scope and determine the optimal hosting model (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Create master inventories and design migration paths, including rehosting, re-platforming, and re-architecting legacy systems.
• Lead the migration process and collaborate with DevOps, security, and networking teams to minimize business disruption.
• Author professional documentation and create logical/physical diagrams using LucidChart or Visio.
• Provide post-implementation support and optimization suggestions to increase cost-effectiveness and efficiency.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional/military experience.
• 3+ years of experience in the IT industry and 1+ years of specific migration experience.
• Solid understanding of IaaS, PaaS, and core infrastructure building blocks (compute, storage, networking).
• Proficiency in virtualization technologies such as VMware vSphere or MS Hyper-V.
• Knowledge of cloud or on-premise migration tools and strategies.
• Strong communication, presentation, and project management skills for stakeholder collaboration.

Nice to have

• Relevant certifications in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Experience with data visualization tools like PowerBI, Tableau, or QuickSight.
• Proficiency with workflow management tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps.
• Project management certifications such as PMP or Agile.
• Familiarity with security models and standards including PCI, SOC2, NIST, or FedRAMP.
