Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (Test Automation)

Location: Dublin 02, Ireland; hybrid with 1–2 days per week on-site

What you will do

• Design and execute test strategies, plans, and cases across UI, API, backend, and end-to-end systems.
• Build, maintain, and scale automation frameworks for web, mobile, device, and performance testing.
• Develop reusable test utilities, APIs, and libraries using technologies such as Python and Selenium.
• Partner with software engineers, product managers, designers, and infrastructure teams to define quality goals and optimize CI/CD pipelines.
• Analyze test results, identify defect root causes, and drive timely resolution.
• Improve quality engineering standards and promote shift-left testing across the software development lifecycle.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of software testing experience, including test plan and test case design.
• 3+ years of hands-on UI and API test automation experience for web and/or mobile applications.
• Proficiency in Python, Java, or JavaScript; Python is preferred.
• Experience with Selenium and/or Appium, API testing tools such as Postman, REST Assured, GraphQL, or gRPC, and development tools including Git, Jenkins, and Docker.
• Strong understanding of software development lifecycles, CI/CD, test methodologies, debugging, and analytical problem-solving.

Nice to have

• Testing or development experience on phones, game consoles, set-top boxes, or other non-PC devices.
• Experience with React Native.
• Exposure to microservices, distributed system testing, and performance, load, or scalability testing.
