What you will do

• Lead technical direction for chat features across mobile clients, backend services, APIs, and game integrations.
• Develop player-facing social experiences using React Native, supported by scalable C# and ASP.NET services.
• Design efficient API contracts using HTTP, REST, and protobuf.
• Translate ambiguous product goals into detailed technical plans in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
• Own the quality, security, and production reliability of both client and backend changes.
• Mentor engineers and guide the adoption of AI-assisted engineering practices.

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional experience building mobile apps, games, or complex product engineering systems.
• Strong professional experience with C#, ASP.NET, and production backend service development.
• Proven track record of shipping mobile or frontend experiences, ideally using React Native, TypeScript, and JavaScript.
• Experience with AWS cloud-native services such as DynamoDB, Redis, OpenSearch, and SQS/SNS.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals in concurrency, design patterns, and maintainable architecture.
• Must be based in Canada or the United States.

Nice to have

• Experience with Unity or game client/server integrations.
• Background in building real-time chat, messaging, or social moderation systems.
• Knowledge of app security, authentication, and abuse prevention.
• Experience with observability, incident response, and production debugging.
• Proficiency with GitHub Actions for automation.
