Staff Software Engineer (AI)

Staff Software Engineer (Infrastructure): Building and managing systems to track, account for, and govern rapidly growing infrastructure assets with an accent on asset data models, lifecycle workflows, and financial reconciliation. Location: Hybrid (San Francisco, CA; New York City, NY; Seattle, WA). Staff are expected to be in the office at least 25% of the time.

Salary: $320,000 - $405,000 USD per year

What you will do

• Build and extend systems for tracking and reporting on infrastructure assets, including data models and approval workflow engines.
• Develop durable integrations with financial and procurement systems to serve as the system of record for fixed asset events.
• Implement compliance features such as immutable event logging, tamper-evident audit trails, and RBAC with least-privilege defaults.
• Create internal-facing UIs for accounting and infrastructure teams to manage asset lifecycles without engineering involvement.
• Collaborate with non-engineering stakeholders to translate operational and financial requirements into technical designs.
• Establish and document processes for asset onboarding, data quality, and change management.

Requirements

• Proficiency in a compiled, statically typed language such as Go or Rust.
• Experience in front-end web development.
• Strong skills in designing relational data models and writing SQL for complex entity relationships.
• Experience building APIs and service-to-service integrations.
• Proven track record of building systems with auditability, access control, or compliance requirements.
• Must be based in or able to work from San Francisco, New York City, or Seattle.

Nice to have

• Experience with Go, TypeScript, and design tools like Figma.
• Knowledge of ERP, IT asset management, or fixed-asset systems.
• Familiarity with accounting concepts (capitalization, depreciation, period close) and internal audit controls.
• Experience with datacenter or network infrastructure operations.
