Salary: $176,000 – $264,000 CAD

What you will do

• Lead the engineering team for the Draft AI product, collaborating with Product and Design in a triad.
• Design technical solutions and provide high-quality feedback through code reviews and architecture documents.
• Actively contribute to the project by shipping code or performing extensive technical reviews.
• Conduct 1:1 meetings to support direct reports in their career growth and development goals.
• Drive hiring initiatives to grow and scale the engineering team.

Requirements

• Demonstrated success in people leadership within software development, specifically for large-scale SaaS products.
• Strong hands-on background in software development and ability to solve complex technical problems.
• Proven ability to hire, coach, and retain top engineering talent in a fast-paced market.
• Growth mindset regarding process improvement and new technologies, especially AI.
• Must be based near the Burnaby hub to comply with hybrid office requirements.

Nice to have

• Experience with AI products at scale.
• Proficiency with Ruby on Rails or Python.
• A developed philosophy on building high-performing software development teams.
