Salary: $324,000 (Base) + RSUs

What you will do

• Lead, mentor, and advocate for a team of world-class ML researchers, fostering an environment of rigorous scientific inquiry.
• Own the operating health of the team, including performance management, career growth, and hiring cycles.
• Manage a portfolio of research bets involving next-generation transformers, causal modeling, and world models.
• Allocate high-value resources, specifically GPU capacity, across competing research priorities.
• Ensure seamless and reproducible handoffs from foundational research into production-grade systems.
• Translate complex technical progress into high-impact narratives for executive and C-level leadership.

Requirements

• 3+ years of direct people-management experience leading applied AI research or core ML teams in high-scale environments.
• M.S. or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Applied Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
• Proven track record of building, scaling, and retaining high-performing research or advanced science teams.
• Must be based in or able to relocate to Palo Alto, USA.

Nice to have

• Deep conceptual familiarity with foundation models, LLMs, behavioral/sequential models, or training/inference efficiency.
• Exceptional storytelling skills and experience communicating with senior leadership.
• Experience operating in global, distributed teams.
