What you will do

• Oversee all accounting and financial reporting for a portfolio of 40+ legal entities and approximately 100 properties.
• Lead the annual budgeting process, financial forecasting, and cash flow projections.
• Establish and manage recurring KPI reporting for accounting, leasing, maintenance, and operations.
• Create, document, and manage departmental workflows and SOPs to ensure scalability.
• Drive the transition from manual processes to an automated, AI-assisted operating model.
• Manage internal accounting staff and optimize the use of AppFolio across the portfolio.

Requirements

• Minimum 10+ years of accounting experience.
• Proven track record of managing accounting operations for complex, multi-entity businesses.
• Deep understanding of financial statements, general ledger, internal controls, and budgeting.
• Demonstrated ability to create SOPs, workflows, and KPI reporting systems.
• Must be based in and work on-site in Los Angeles.
• Ability to balance strategic leadership with hands-on execution (e.g., preparing journal entries).

Nice to have

• Experience with AppFolio.
• Background in real estate, property management, or real estate investment accounting.
• CPA license.
• Experience managing offshore accounting personnel or implementing AI automation tools.
