Tech Lead (Backend)

TL;DR

Tech Lead (Backend): Designing and launching a new high-impact business line focusing on a resilient, scalable platform with an accent on distributed systems architecture, multi-tenant platforms, and model-in-the-loop pipelines. Focus on building zero-to-one products, establishing engineering culture, and scaling a data-labeling engine.

What you will do

• Define end-to-end architecture including data storage, task orchestration, and observability.
• Drive "build vs. buy" decisions and select the initial tech stack (cloud, languages, frameworks).
• Prototype core services and contribute production code for a greenfield project.
• Mentor and lead a small team of backend, fullstack, and frontend engineers as the team scales.
• Collaborate with the Product Lead to translate customer needs into actionable technical requirements.
• Establish engineering culture, coding standards, and CI/CD pipelines from day one.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience designing and shipping distributed systems at scale.
• Must be based in Europe.
• Proficiency with major cloud platforms (AWS or GCP) and modern stacks (Ruby, Python, Rust, Golang, or Java).
• Deep track record of architecting large-scale, multi-tenant applications.
• Experience hiring and growing engineering teams.
• Fluency in English (C1+) is required for all communication.
