What you will do

• Lead backend development best practices, including code reviews, testing, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Define technical standards and architectural approaches for building maintainable and robust Python systems.
• Plan and oversee backend development tasks, ensuring timely delivery and coordinating with frontend teams and product managers.
• Build and develop the backend engineering team through regular 1-on-1s, mentoring, and onboarding processes.
• Ensure the scalability, reliability, and security of high-load backend services.

Requirements

• 5+ years of backend development experience with Python (Django, FastAPI or similar) and 2+ years in a lead or managerial role.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, API design, and database optimization.
• Experience with cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes).
• English: B2 (Upper-Intermediate) required.
• Location: Must be based in or able to work hybrid in Tbilisi (Georgia) or Cyprus.

• Experience in finance or trading systems.
