What you will do

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of software engineers through regular 1:1s and career development planning.
• Contribute directly to core applications, services, and data platforms (approx. 60% hands-on).
• Drive the adoption of AI-powered development practices, including automated testing and AI-enhanced workflows.
• Define and maintain engineering standards across code quality, testing, security, and observability.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to define scalable architecture patterns and long-term platform strategy.
• Partner with Product, Design, and Data teams to deliver customer-focused outcomes.

Requirements

• Must have the legal right to work in the United Kingdom (no visa sponsorship).
• 5+ years of experience as a Senior, Lead, Staff, or Principal Engineer.
• Proven experience leading engineers or managing software development teams.
• Strong technical expertise in TypeScript, JavaScript, Node.js, and SQL.
• Deep understanding of cloud platforms, distributed systems, and production operations.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
