What you will do

• Lead the development and production releases of robust, observable solutions for healthcare subrogation product lines.
• Manage and scale a nimble team of developers, growing the team to 5–6 engineers over the next year.
• Drive architectural design while remaining hands-on through part-time coding and code reviews.
• Develop phased plans to reduce technical pain points and increase team velocity.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, UX, and customers to influence product direction and platform extensibility.
• Own projects aligned with product development strategy and measure impact through metrics.

Requirements

• Must be based in the US.
• 3+ years of combined hands-on technical leadership and engineering management experience.
• 8+ years of production application development and backend services (APIs/microservices) at scale.
• Proficiency in one or more backend languages: Java, Scala, or Rust.
• Proven track record of recruiting, hiring, and managing performance for engineering teams.
• Experience working alongside ML engineering teams.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with AI tools for development and test efficiency.
• BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
