Hardware Engineer (Networking)

TL;DR

Hardware Engineer (Networking): Designing and developing high-speed Ethernet switches for datacenters and AI clusters with an accent on high-density PCB design and signal integrity. Focus on end-to-end hardware development, from functional specifications and schematic capture to lab bring-up and mass production.

Location: Sydney, Australia. Must have Australian Citizenship, Permanent Residency, or a demonstrable legal entitlement to work in Australia.

What you will do

• Author functional specifications for high-power and high-density Ethernet switches.
• Perform schematic capture and collaborate with eCAD teams on PCB layout and component footprints.
• Run signal integrity simulations for both power and datapath signals.
• Specify PCB stackup and fabrication details and coordinate with various PCB vendors.
• Manage lab bring-up, prototype debug, and complex system troubleshooting between software and test teams.
• Work with local and overseas Contract Manufacturers (CM) to ensure high-yield production.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical, Electronics, Computer) or higher.
• 3+ years of relevant experience in hardware engineering.
• Experience designing 20+ layer boards with 50G+ signals and advanced technologies (HDI, sequential lamination).
• Experience with multi-phase DC/DC converters for high current and high transient loads.
• Proficiency with high-speed interfaces such as DDR and PCIe.
• Legal entitlement to work in Australia (Citizenship or Permanent Residency) is required.

Nice to have

• Experience in embedded x86/ARM system design.
• FPGA design and system simulation using Verilog or VHDL.
