What you will do

• Define and drive application-relevant metrology research topics within the CMMS group.
• Develop, assess, and validate sensor-physics simulations for optical systems and signal formation.
• Build fundamental understanding of parameter inference, including limitations and uncertainties.
• Take ownership of high-priority research from problem formulation to proof-of-concept.
• Act as a technical reference and mentor for junior group members and stakeholders.
• Develop processes and ways of working to enable effective innovation.

Requirements

• PhD or equivalent experience in physics, optics, applied mathematics, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of metrology use cases in semiconductor manufacturing.
• Proven experience with physics-based simulation of optical or scattering-based sensors.
• Ability to translate physical insight into robust inference algorithms.
• Must be legally authorized to access controlled technology as defined by US Export Administration Regulations.
