What you will do
- Develop structural biofabricated polymer composites, reinforced laminates, and sandwich panels using microbial substances derived from wastewater.
- Experiment and validate composite materials focusing on sustainability, aesthetics, and functionality through multi-scale characterization.
- Establish a participatory, transdisciplinary framework involving architecture, engineering, and social sciences.
- Organize focus groups, design reviews, and open studios to optimize material formulations and increase societal acceptance.
- Build scaled models and 1:1 scale demonstrators to test and validate material desirability.
- Explore mass-scale feasibility and market readiness through digital and robotic manufacturing frameworks.
Requirements
- PhD or Master's degree in Materials Engineering or Building Sciences.
- English: C1 level proficiency required.
- Strong interest in bio-materials and bio-fabrication.
- Experience with material processing and product design (demonstrated via thesis or publications).
- Ability to work independently and within transdisciplinary networks.
