Commercial Attorney (AI): Drafting, negotiating, and closing commercial transactions for cloud computing and AI services with an accent on data protection, privacy, and intellectual property. Focus on providing actionable legal advice to executive management and integrating AI governance into commercial agreements.

Location: Hybrid (Redwood City, CA). Must be based in the US and available during California working hours.

Salary: $170,500—$200,000 USD

What you will do

• Independently draft, review, and negotiate complex commercial agreements covering technical, data protection, and IP issues.
• Provide strategic and actionable legal advice to sales leadership and executive management.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including finance, engineering, product, security, and global risk and compliance.
• Contribute to sales enablement, AI agentic development, and the creation of team playbooks.

Requirements

• 5+ years of relevant post-law school experience.
• Accredited law degree and a current, active license to practice law in the United States.
• Proficiency in drafting and negotiating cloud services, AI use, and governance provisions.
• Experience with US and EU privacy regulations, including GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, HIPAA, HITECH, EU Data Act, and EU DORA.
• Must be based in the US and work from the Redwood City office at least 3 days per week.
