Senior Pharmacist (Strategy)

What you will do

• Develop and execute the organization's drug formulary and pharmacy utilization management (UM) policies.
• Monitor FDA approvals and drug manufacturer pipelines to write drug monographs for Pharmacy & Therapeutics Committee review.
• Implement UM programs including prior authorizations, dose and duration edits, quantity limits, and step therapy.
• Ensure regulatory compliance with federal and state mandates and represent the organization in audits.
• Partner with analytics teams and external vendors to generate real-world evidence insights for pharmacy strategy.
• Create educational initiatives for physicians, pharmacies, and members to promote pharmacy programs.

Requirements

• Registered Pharmacist license (Non-State Specific).
• Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree.
• 5 years of progressive experience in pharmacy specialization (or PGY-1 residency plus 2 additional years).
• Strong understanding of managed care pharmacy principles and practices.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database applications.

Nice to have

• Experience in pharmacy strategy, formulary administration, or product development within a health system or PBM.
• Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist.
• Board Certified Geriatric Pharmacist.
