What you will do

• Develop and implement automotive body assembly equipment, tools, and scalable manufacturing processes.
• Lead block planning and concept factory layouts to optimize footprint, material flow, and utility routing.
• Collaborate with Vehicle Engineering teams to influence product architecture for Design for Manufacturability.
• Define and validate core body assembly processes, including dissimilar metal joining and automated framing.
• Create and maintain detailed process documentation, including failure mode analyses and control plans.
• Act as the primary technical liaison with external equipment integrators and toolmakers for validation and commissioning.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 8 years of manufacturing engineering experience focused on launching automotive Body-in-White (BIW) production lines.
• Technical expertise in advanced joining technologies, automated framing systems, and GD&T.
• Experience managing deliverables with automation partners and willingness to travel for equipment buyoffs.
• Proficiency with industry-standard design and layout software such as CATIA and AutoCAD.

Nice to have

• Experience scaling production within a BIW or Paint shop environment.
• Familiarity with PLM and MES integration in automated production settings.
• Experience using advanced factory simulation and layout validation tools.
