Head of Legal (AI)

Location: United States — Remote

Salary: $281,800–$331,500 per year, plus potential equity and comprehensive benefits.

hirify.global builds an AI-enabled platform for creating and governing internal software connected to business data, enterprise policies, and reusable components.

What you will do

• Lead and develop the legal team, set priorities, coach attorneys and legal operations staff, and determine when to hire, automate, or engage outside counsel.
• Own commercial contracting for complex and non-standard MSAs, DPAs, order forms, vendor contracts, and partnership agreements, partnering with Sales on strategic and enterprise deals.
• Lead privacy and data protection legal work across GDPR, CCPA, emerging state and international regimes, product features, contracts, and customer security reviews.
• Advise on AI legal and regulatory matters, including customer-facing AI terms, responsible use, intellectual property, data rights, and evolving regulation.
• Build legal infrastructure including contract intake, CLM workflows, templates, negotiation playbooks, policies, and process documentation, using AI where it improves speed and consistency.
• Manage outside counsel and the legal budget, support governance, equity administration, financing, corporate development, employment, IP, and compliance matters, and report material risks and team performance to leadership.

Requirements

• J.D. and active bar membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
• 10+ years of law firm and/or in-house experience with deep exposure to B2B SaaS commercial contracting across customer and vendor relationships.
• Experience leading or managing attorneys or a legal function, or a clear track record of readiness to do so.
• Strong working knowledge of privacy and data protection frameworks, including GDPR and CCPA, and their application to enterprise SaaS and AI products.
• Familiarity with AI-specific legal issues, including model and data licensing, IP ownership, and emerging regulation.
• Sound risk judgment, including the ability to identify escalation needs and explain tradeoffs to executives in plain language.
• Ability to handle high-volume, fast-moving commercial work and prioritize and execute independently.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including translating legal concepts for non-lawyer audiences.
• Curiosity about AI tools and legal technology, with willingness to use them to improve efficiency; impeccable ethical standards.

Nice to have

• Experience with contract management systems such as Ironclad or similar.
• Experience in corporate governance, financing, or employment law.
