What you will do

  • Manage all inbound consignment inquiries from private clients and dealer consignors.
  • Develop and maintain trusted advisor relationships with key consignors and end customer stakeholders.
  • Evaluate potential consignments for salability based on price point and artist, negotiating commissions and fixed prices.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams including finance, compliance, and operations to ensure successful delivery of solutions.
  • Manage the Books & Collectibles cataloger and maintain detailed status reports for all consignments.
  • Promote the Sotheby’s Buy Now offering to increase consumer awareness of Books & Collectibles.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in account management, project management, or a relevant field.
  • Working-to-expert knowledge of Books, Vintage Posters, Sports, or Editions.
  • Strong business acumen and the ability to establish trust with a diverse range of personalities.
  • Demonstrated track record of meeting and exceeding monthly goals.
  • High level of organization, attention to detail, and comfort with ambiguity.
  • Ability to manage teams across multiple locations and master various technical systems.

Nice to have

  • Experience with digital or online marketplaces.
