What you will do

• Own end-to-end multi-state payroll execution for assigned pay groups, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Maintain SOPs and drive standardization of payroll processes across integrated entities.
• Manage, coach, and develop junior payroll managers and administrative staff.
• Partner with Finance to ensure payroll-to-GL alignment, support accruals, and deliver recurring analytics.
• Monitor federal, state, and local payroll regulations to ensure timely implementation.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to onboard new entities and lead data migration activities.

Requirements

• Minimum 7+ years of experience in multi-state payroll processing.
• 2+ years of experience leading or managing a payroll team.
• Strong knowledge of payroll systems and compliance, with UKG experience highly preferred.
• Proven experience preparing and filing federal, state, and local payroll tax returns (Forms 941, 940).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly advanced Excel.
• Must be based in or able to work in a hybrid setup in Tampa, FL.

Nice to have

• Background in benefits administration or US payroll taxation.
• Certification in Payroll (CPP) or Project Management (PMP).
• Experience with M&A processes and integration strategies.
