What you will do

• Design and develop interpretable, actionable experimental designs for high-throughput laboratory operations.
• Develop and optimize molecular assays, incorporating automation, QC, and LIMS.
• Transfer developed assays from R&D into production, including training CLIA laboratory operators.
• Author SOPs, experimental protocols, and reports to meet Design History File requirements.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams across bioinformatics, regulatory, and marketing groups.
• Mentor junior staff on laboratory tasks and provide technical troubleshooting across R&D.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in biology, molecular biology, genetics, or a related field.
• Minimum 6-7 years of postgraduate laboratory bench experience, with at least 5 years in industry product development.
• Expertise in molecular genomic technologies (RNA/DNA) and next-generation sequencing (NGS) platforms.
• Experience with design controls and phase-gate processes in regulated product development (LDT diagnostics).
• Proficiency in NGS-based genomic data analysis, interpretation, and visualization.
• Must be based in or be able to work on-site in South San Francisco, CA.
