Accounting Lead

Location: New York, New York, United States, or San Francisco, California, United States

Salary: $125,000–$145,000 USD annually

What you will do

• Supervise daily accounting activities, allocate tasks, track deadlines, and review team deliverables.
• Prepare and review journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, and supporting schedules.
• Coordinate assigned month-end close activities and support variance analysis and management reporting.
• Ensure compliance with accounting policies, internal controls, documentation standards, and audit requirements.
• Identify operational inefficiencies, recommend improvements, and support approved process or system changes.
• Coordinate operational accounting questions across AP, AR, Operations, and Supply Chain, escalating complex issues when needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 4–6 years of accounting experience with strong exposure to US GAAP.
• At least 1 year of experience supervising or leading junior accounting staff.
• Hands-on experience with journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, revenue and expense recognition, and close activities.
• Experience with ERP systems, preferably NetSuite, and strong Excel skills.
• Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and ability to work cross-functionally within close timelines.
