What you will do

• Perform routine and preventative maintenance on pumps, generators, valves, mixers, and other treatment equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair defective mechanical and electrical parts using precision measuring and testing devices.
• Conduct inspections of wastewater treatment plants, pump stations, and collection systems.
• Operate heavy equipment including track excavators, dump trucks, and sewer jetters for infrastructure repair.
• Maintain records and complete work orders within the CMMS software.
• Respond to emergency calls and participate in the on-call rotation for emergency response.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED with the ability to read and comprehend English instructions.
• 6 months to 2 years of experience in mechanical, electrical, or pump maintenance.
• Proficiency with power, pneumatic, hydraulic, and hand tools.
• Experience meeting OSHA safety regulations (Confined Space Entry, Electrical, etc.).
• Must possess a valid NC driver’s license and a safe driving record.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in outdoor weather conditions.

Nice to have

• NC Water Distribution and/or Collection System certification.
• Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
• Vocational training and strong mechanical aptitude.
