What you will do
- Perform engineering calculations to size pumping equipment and establish equipment and system performance parameters.
- Design pumping systems, transient analysis solutions, seal and seal water systems, control valves, and air relief systems.
- Coordinate with equipment manufacturers to select technically appropriate solutions and review manufacturer and contractor submittals.
- Develop P&IDs, mechanical arrangement drawings, equipment specifications, piping specifications, and valve specifications.
- Lead pump-system and transient-design projects while coordinating with multidisciplinary teams and project stakeholders.
- Perform quality-control reviews and mentor engineers in mechanical system design.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent engineering background.
- At least 5 years of related engineering experience; 6 or more years preferred, with 8+ years strongly preferred.
- Experience with pumping systems, hydraulic principles, engineering calculations, technical drawings, specifications, and piping component selection.
- Active engineering registration or licensure to support engineer-of-record requirements where applicable; a Professional Engineer license is preferred.
- Strong organizational, communication, critical-thinking, leadership, collaboration, mentoring, and coaching skills.
