What you will do

• Design and build full-stack applications from concept to production using React, Next.js, and Node.js, PHP, or Python.
• Integrate AI capabilities such as LLMs, vector search, and AI agents into product experiences.
• Architect scalable, API-first, and event-driven backend systems and data flows.
• Rapidly prototype and iterate on AI-driven features and products.
• Collaborate with product and design teams to define features, UX, and system behavior.
• Optimize the performance, reliability, and cost of AI systems.

Requirements

• Strong proficiency in modern frontend frameworks: React, Next.js, or Astro.
• Experience with backend development (Node.js, PHP, Python) and REST/GraphQL APIs.
• Proven track record of building and shipping production applications.
• Understanding of prompt engineering, embeddings, and Retrieval-augmented generation (RAG).
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP.
• Must be based in or able to work in Charlotte, NC (Hybrid); no visa sponsorship available.

Nice to have

• Experience with vector databases like Pinecone, Weaviate, or Upstash Vector.
• Knowledge of ML fundamentals including fine-tuning and model selection.
• Experience with serverless platforms or edge computing.
• Background in developer platforms or API-first products.
• Previous startup or small-team experience.
