Senior Library Manager (Knowledge Management): Leading the operational delivery and strategic shaping of Knowledge and Information Management (KIM) services across the University with an accent on information governance, records management, and the responsible adoption of AI. Focus on embedding KIM as a strategic asset, driving cultural change towards data-driven working, and optimizing digital tools like M365 and SharePoint.

Location: Hybrid; contractually aligned to the Milton Keynes Office with required attendance at least 1 day per month and for ad hoc meetings.

Salary: £47,389 to £56,535

What you will do

  • Shape and embed the University's Knowledge and Information Management (KIM) service model and best practices.
  • Lead the KIM operational team to deliver customer-focused information and knowledge governance services.
  • Integrate AI and automation tools to improve information discovery, classification, and search.
  • Develop and implement KIM strategies, policies, and frameworks for information risk management.
  • Collaborate with IT and Digital Services to enhance M365, SharePoint, and Teams capabilities.
  • Build cross-institutional networks of Knowledge Management champions.

Requirements

  • Proven experience delivering Knowledge and Information Management, Information Governance, or Records Management services.
  • Experience leading teams and implementing KIM practices within a complex organization.
  • Deep understanding of information legislation, governance, and lifecycle principles.
  • Ability to lead cultural change and support non-specialists in adopting digital tools.
  • Awareness of AI opportunities and risks in information management.
  • Must be based in the UK and able to attend the Milton Keynes office as required.

Nice to have

  • Experience in higher education or public sector contexts.
  • Proficiency with M365 information governance features.
  • Experience in policy development or supporting audits.
