Senior Elastic Stack Data Integration Engineer (DoD): Designing, building, and maintaining high-fidelity data ingestion pipelines for Elastic SIEM with an accent on Logstash architecture, ECS normalization, and security telemetry enrichment. Focus on ensuring system reliability, optimizing pipeline performance, and supporting complex security analytics for the Missile Defense Agency.

Location: Must be based onsite at Schriever Space Force Base, Colorado Springs, CO or Redstone Arsenal, Huntsville, AL. Remote work is not available.

Salary: $130,000 – $150,000 annually.

What you will do

• Architect and maintain Logstash pipelines for diverse security telemetry ingestion.
• Implement parsing, JSON transformations, and ECS mapping for high-fidelity data delivery.
• Optimize pipeline performance, scalability, and high-availability configurations.
• Manage integrations with Beats, Elastic Agent, Kafka, and syslog endpoints.
• Collaborate with detection engineering and platform operations to align data with analytic requirements.
• Maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and schema references for enterprise standards.

Requirements

• Must have an active DoD Secret Security Clearance (ability to obtain Top Secret required).
• Must hold a DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+ CE).
• 10+ years of general work experience with 5+ years in log ingestion or data engineering.
• 2+ years in a lead or senior role mentoring team members.
• Deep expertise in Elastic Stack components and Linux administration.
• Must be able to work onsite in Colorado Springs, CO or Huntsville, AL.

Nice to have

• Elastic Certified Engineer certification.
• Experience with Kafka, Redis, or cloud-native logging architectures.
• Proficiency in Python, Bash, or PowerShell scripting.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, Ansible).
