Location: Remote (Canada). Must be based in Alberta, Ontario, or British Columbia.

What you will do

• Build and scale a high-performing engineering team, hiring strategically to fill skill gaps.
• Coach and mentor engineers to ensure high-quality delivery and professional growth.
• Set the technical strategy for AI agents and downmarket products aligned with business priorities.
• Collaborate with product, design, and AI platform teams to ship customer-facing AI features.
• Champion best practices for applied AI, including prompt engineering, RAG, and agentic frameworks.
• Iterate quickly on roadmaps and navigate ambiguity in a fast-paced startup environment.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience managing technical teams of 4-8+ engineers.
• Proven track record as a strong individual contributor with hands-on applied AI experience.
• Deep knowledge of LLM-backed products, including prompting, RAG, and agent frameworks.
• Experience working in fast-paced startup environments.
• Excellent collaboration and influencing skills across cross-functional teams.
• Must be based in Alberta, Ontario, or British Columbia.

Nice to have

• Founder background or YC experience.
• Familiarity with TypeScript, React, and Node.js.
