Lead Data Engineer (GCP): Designing and building a greenfield data platform with an accent on scalable ETL/ELT pipelines and distributed data processing. Focus on mentoring the engineering team, defining technical architecture, and ensuring system performance using modern Google Cloud services.

Location: Must be based in Slovakia (Remote)

What you will do

• Design and maintain scalable data pipelines using BigQuery, Dataflow, and Dataproc.
• Develop and optimize complex ETL/ELT workflows for large-scale datasets.
• Collaborate with data scientists and stakeholders to deliver reliable data solutions.
• Implement security best practices including IAM policies and data encryption.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance for professional growth.
• Contribute to data architecture and modeling using star and snowflake schemas.

Requirements

• Must be based in Slovakia due to taxation regulations.
• Advanced proficiency in Python (PySpark, Pandas, NumPy) and SQL.
• Extensive experience with GCP data services and distributed processing.
• Strong background in data warehousing and ETL/ELT pipeline development.
• English: C1 level required.
• Experience with team leadership and agile methodologies.
