Research Integrity Associate (Academic Publishing)

TL;DR

Research Integrity Associate (Academic Publishing): Triaging and supporting ethics and integrity queries across books and journals with an accent on case management and publication ethics. Location: Hybrid (UK). Must be based in the UK, have the right to work, and live within a commutable distance to the Milton Park office (required 3+ days per week).

What you will do

• Triage and classify ethics queries for books and journals, escalating complex cases as appropriate.
• Provide expert advice on publication ethics to internal and external stakeholders.
• Utilize specialized tools like iThenticate and ImageTwin to detect and verify research integrity issues.
• Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and tracking systems for ethics investigations.
• Draft author correspondence and post-publication correction notices.
• Support large-scale investigations and maintain detailed audit trails for case reporting.

Requirements

• Degree in STM or HSS, or a demonstrated academic background.
• Familiarity with publication ethics and research integrity issues.
• Experience working with scholarly journals or books.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and shared folder management.
• Must have the right to work and live in the UK.
• Must be able to work from the Milton Park office at least 3 days per week.

Nice to have

• Experience with submission systems such as ScholarOne or Editorial Manager.
• Direct experience in handling research integrity investigations.
