What you will do

• Act as the HV/MV electrical subject matter expert for all solar PV and BESS projects.
• Lead technical reviews of grid connection agreements and ensure adherence to UK Grid Code, G99/G100, and DNO/TSO requirements.
• Review and approve electrical designs from EPCs, ICPs, and consultants, providing technical challenges to optimize performance.
• Oversee and validate grid studies, including fault level, load flow, and protection coordination.
• Support site delivery teams during HV installation, testing, energization, and commissioning.
• Collaborate with Development, Construction, and Asset Management teams to ensure a smooth handover to operations.

Requirements

• Must be based in or have the right to work in the UK (Location: London).
• 5–10+ years of experience in HV/MV electrical engineering within power, utilities, or renewable energy.
• Strong experience with utility-scale Solar PV, BESS, or grid infrastructure projects.
• Deep understanding of HV systems, substations, protection systems, and grid connection design.
• Comprehensive knowledge of UK grid standards and processes (DNO/TSO, Grid Code, G99/G100).
• Ability to critically review and challenge EPC and consultant designs.

• Previous experience within an Independent Connection Provider (ICP).
