What you will do
- Lead the design and development of high-voltage automotive hardware, including power electronics, control electronics, DC-DC converters, and motor drive inverters.
- Own the hardware delivery lifecycle from initial concept through validation to production release.
- Define robust, scalable, and cost-effective hardware architectures optimized for high-volume production.
- Lead and mentor a team of hardware engineers, allocating resources and supporting technical development.
- Drive best practices in Design for Manufacture (DFM), Design for Cost (DFC), and FMEA activities.
- Oversee supplier engagement, component selection, and the integration of new technologies.
Requirements
- Proven experience designing complex high-voltage power electronic systems in automotive, electrification, or motorsport industries.
- Technical expertise in traction inverters, DC-DC converters, and battery charging systems.
- Experience leading engineering teams and delivering products into full-scale production.
- Deep understanding of high-volume product development, manufacturability, and cost optimization.
- Strong skills in hardware architecture development, schematic design, and component selection.
- Must have valid UK work authorization; visa sponsorship is not available.
Nice to have
- Experience working within established automotive development environments.
- Knowledge of EMC, functional safety, and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Exposure to supplier management and production launch activities.
