What you will do
- Design, build, and operate a planet-scale, resilient, and performant storage layer.
- Develop and maintain automation for logging, monitoring, and storage layer maintenance.
- Optimize existing systems using technologies like Hadoop, Spark, Aerospike, and Kafka.
- Take ownership of large projects and components as a senior contributor.
- Mentor junior teammates and contribute to complex security system designs.
- Drive improvements in processes and procedures for the team and division.
Requirements
- Experience building, maintaining, and troubleshooting distributed storage solutions (e.g., Ceph) and orchestrators (e.g., Rook) at scale.
- Proficiency with IaC and configuration management tools such as Salt, Ansible, Puppet, or Terraform.
- Experience with storage-level replication technologies.
- Strong expertise in capacity planning, disaster recovery, and monitoring.
- Ability to relay information effectively across different teams.
- Must be based in or be able to work from the London office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
