What you will do

• Design, build, and operate a planet-scale, resilient, and performant storage layer.
• Develop and maintain automation for logging, monitoring, and storage layer maintenance.
• Optimize existing systems using technologies like Hadoop, Spark, Aerospike, and Kafka.
• Take ownership of large projects and components as a senior contributor.
• Mentor junior teammates and contribute to complex security system designs.
• Drive improvements in processes and procedures for the team and division.

Requirements

• Experience building, maintaining, and troubleshooting distributed storage solutions (e.g., Ceph) and orchestrators (e.g., Rook) at scale.
• Proficiency with IaC and configuration management tools such as Salt, Ansible, Puppet, or Terraform.
• Experience with storage-level replication technologies.
• Strong expertise in capacity planning, disaster recovery, and monitoring.
• Ability to relay information effectively across different teams.
• Must be based in or be able to work from the London office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
