Hardware Systems Engineer (Industrial CT)

Location: Full-time, in-person role based in the Cambridge, Massachusetts office; applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship.

Salary: $120,000–$160,000 per year, plus equity compensation.

What you will do

• Drive system architecture by translating product requirements into electrical and firmware designs.
• Select and qualify motors, sensors, actuators, motion controllers, power supplies, and other critical components.
• Write peripheral drivers and integrate them into appliance firmware and the application stack.
• Design embedded electronics and PCBs using PCB CAD tools.
• Build prototypes, cables, boards, and integrated electromechanical systems.
• Plan and execute testing and validation, analyze results, and implement corrective design actions through production.

Requirements

• 4+ years of hands-on experience taking complex electromechanical or robotics products from concept to working hardware.
• Practical experience with both electronics and embedded code on real products.
• Ability to investigate ambiguous hardware behavior and understand system-level causes.
• Experience owning hardware development across the cycle from concept to production.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States without current or future employment visa sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Background in motion control, closed-loop systems, or sensor fusion.
• Experience shipping a hardware product from first prototype to production at volume.
• Experience with X-ray systems or other radiation-emitting equipment.
