What you will do

• Lead environmental compliance activities across site operations and construction projects.
• Develop, implement, and maintain environmental management systems in line with ISO 14001.
• Conduct site inspections, environmental audits, and compliance assessments to identify and mitigate risks.
• Manage site-based environmental aspects including waste, pollution prevention, water management, and ecology.
• Liaise with regulators, clients, and contractors to ensure permit conditions are adhered to.
• Develop and deliver environmental training and awareness initiatives to promote a strong site culture.

Requirements

• Proven experience as an Environmental Manager or Advisor within construction, civil engineering, or infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of UK environmental legislation, permitting requirements, and regulatory frameworks.
• Experience implementing and maintaining ISO 14001 environmental management systems.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to spend significant time on site.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Nice to have

• Degree in Environmental Management, Environmental Science, Ecology, or a related discipline.
• Professional membership with IEMA or a similar recognized environmental body.
• Lead Auditor or Internal Auditor qualification.
• NEBOSH Environmental Management Certificate or equivalent.
