TL;DR

Health & Safety Advisor (Manufacturing): Driving a strong EHS culture across construction activities and manufacturing sites with an accent on safety standards, legal compliance, and continuous performance improvement. Focus on conducting EHS audits, leading incident investigations, and managing ISO certifications.

Location: Based in Leeds, UK with regular travel across the UK and occasionally to Ireland.

What you will do

  • Conduct regular EHS audits and inspections for Leeds, Newton Aycliffe, and various UK construction sites.
  • Partner with operational teams to ensure legal compliance and audit readiness.
  • Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and non-conformance reporting.
  • Manage ISO standards (45001, 14001, 9001) and accreditations such as CHAS and Constructionline.
  • Promote the use of digital EHS tools and support the development of the Integrated Management System (IMS).
  • Collaborate with SHEQ, Quality, and Technical teams to drive a positive safety culture.

Requirements

  • Proven EHS experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of EHS legislation, construction regulations, and ISO standards.
  • Practical knowledge of key risk areas: temporary works, lifting operations, working at height, and LOTOTO.
  • Ability to engage and influence stakeholders to drive a positive safety culture across all levels.
  • Willingness to travel regularly, including overnight stays.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with digital EHS tools.
