What you will do

• Process 80-100 outgoing referrals and prior authorizations daily for MRI, X-ray, Physical Therapy, and other specialist services.
• Verify patient eligibility and insurance benefits.
• Handle patient phone calls and route them appropriately to the correct departments.
• Assist with appointment scheduling and general front desk operations.
• Coordinate closely with providers and insurance representatives to ensure timely authorizations.

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of experience in a medical referrals/authorizations role, preferably in a high-volume specialty clinic.
• Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems and insurance portals.
• Ability to manage a high volume of tasks (80-100 daily) with accuracy and efficiency.
• Strong professional verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work Monday to Friday, 9AM to 6PM in Bakersfield, CA.

Nice to have

• Experience in pain management, orthopedics, or physical therapy referrals.
• Familiarity with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance authorization processes.
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.
