TL;DR
Field Operator - Traditional Locator (Utility locating/SUE): Operate underground discovery tools and identify underground assets and infrastructure using multi-sensor and traditional utility locating methods with an accent on on-site troubleshooting, accurate documentation, and scaling field operations. Focus on resolving operational issues with R&D/operations managers and producing reliable site reports while working demanding field schedules across the United States.
Location: Across US metros within reasonable access to major airports (e.g., New York, Boston, Denver, Los Angeles, Seattle, Atlanta, Dallas, Houston, San Francisco, San Jose)
Salary: $33-35/hr + OT

What you will do
- Operate underground discovery tools using patented carts and drone.
- Identify underground assets using advanced sensors (electromagnetic, magnetic, metal, GPR, seismic, etc.).
- Identify underground infrastructure using traditional utility locating equipment and industry-standard methods (e.g., electromagnetic locating).
- Identify and resolve operational issues on site in coordination with R&D and operations managers.
- Document site interactions, site information, and operation reports in organizational software.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience with traditional utility locating /SUE/ underground utility locating field operations.
- Must be able to travel domestically across the US (up to 100%) and work in urban and remote environments.
- Comfortable with a 2-week on/1-week off rotation; flexible scheduling to meet business needs.
- Physically demanding role: stand and walk up to 8 hours/day; work night shifts at times.
- Ability to load/unload equipment weighing 20–40 lbs; valid Driver’s License and ability to ride in a vehicle up to 4 hours to/from job sites.
- Excellent English (read/write/speak) is mandatory.
Nice to have
- Background in earth sciences, engineering, construction, or utility mapping.
- Technological savvy and ability to troubleshoot on-site.
- OSHA 10 certificate.
- FAA Part 107 drone pilot experience.
