What you will do

• Conduct forensic investigations via site inspections to determine cause, origin, and extent of structural damage.
• Analyze failure modes and contributing factors and develop well-supported conclusions.
• Produce clear technical reports, documentation, and other deliverables.
• Provide timely updates and manage expectations with clients, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
• Work independently from a home office while leveraging internal experts and resources.
• Drive issues to resolution with internal and external stakeholders and contribute to continuous improvement of processes and tools.

Requirements

• Location/authorization: Legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship or restrictions.
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in Michigan required, or eligible by reciprocity.
• Bachelor of Science degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or closely related) from an ABET-accredited university required.
• Strong technical writing skills to produce effective reports; strong verbal communication skills for face-to-face interactions.
• Ability to perform fieldwork, including confined spaces and roof inspections, and to carry ladders and operate required equipment.
• Willingness to travel locally, regionally, and nationally by vehicle or plane as needed (some overnight travel required).
