What you will do

• Lead and manage a portfolio of China-based alliances, ensuring adherence to contractual obligations.
• Establish and nurture trust-based relationships with Chinese partners to anticipate challenges and resolve operational issues.
• Act as a center of expertise for China partnerships, sharing local market insights and regulatory knowledge with global teams in Basel and San Francisco.
• Build and sustain high-value relationships within the Chinese biotech and VC ecosystems to identify partnership opportunities.
• Lead negotiations for contractual amendments and agreements in coordination with internal stakeholders.
• Represent Corporate Business Development in public forums and brief senior management on alliance strategy.

Requirements

• Advanced degree (Master, MD, PhD, or PharmD) in business, finance, or science.
• 10+ years of professional experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.
• Fluency in both English and Chinese (oral and written).
• Strong understanding of the pharmaceutical value chain from R&D to commercialization.
• Proven record of project management, conflict resolution, and leadership in a matrix environment.
• Deep connection to the China biotech ecosystem, including biotech companies and VCs.
