What you will do

• Serve as the technical authority for database platforms, ensuring data integrity, availability, security, and high performance.
• Install, configure, and maintain enterprise DBMS including Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, and NoSQL platforms.
• Design and optimize database schemas, indexing strategies, and data models to improve scalability.
• Lead database migrations from on-premises to cloud-based platforms such as Amazon RDS and Azure SQL Database.
• Develop automation scripts using SQL, Python, and PowerShell to streamline database administration tasks.
• Implement and maintain robust database security controls, backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies.

Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship and Active DoD Secret Clearance required.
• Must be based in or able to work on-site in Silver Spring, MD.
• 10+ years of professional database administration experience.
• Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Engineering, or a related field.
• Active certification meeting CSWF/IAT Level II or DCWF 421 requirements (e.g., Security+ CE, CySA+, or CISSP).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
